Paper Over | Live Films
Over the course of four weekends, we created an evolving installation made of newspaper cutouts and paper backdrops which served as a film set for a series of public filmmaking events.
Each performance was documented through the use of our camera phones synced in a Google Hangouts call. The app, which allows conversation between multiple users, full screens whichever user it ‘hears’. We exploited this function as the automated ‘editor’ of our live film. The film was projected on the wall of the gallery during each performance.
Additionally, Todd processed phrases spoken by Sylke and I into cut-up texts, played as ambient loops through a speaker system.
